In a first on many fronts, Chelsea FC of England announced Friday their partnership with actor Arjun Kapoor for a fan-led talk show. Titled ‘Out of the Blue’, the monthly show will be co-hosted by Ankush Sharma of ‘Superpower Football’ fame and Arjun Kapoor who will interact with fans in the studio and also answer video questions. This is the first time a global football club Chelsea FC will be doing a fan-led show with an appointed celebrity brand ambassador. This is also the first time an engagement initiative has been devised by an international football club going beyond the generic fan communication that is usually seen. The talk show will also feature members from Chelsea FC’s official fan clubs in India. It will consist of various segments including a monthly preview led by Arjun Kapoor, interaction with the fans on the set, a section called ‘Arjun’s Blue Crew’ where fans will ask him questions about Chelsea, players, performances, and other topics including Hindi films and football. The show will kick-off with a very special guest in its first episode. Kusum Kaneriya, an 85-year-old Chelsea FC supporting grandmother from Pune will share her journey as a fan. “It fills me with immense pride and happiness to bring Chelsea FC’s international fan show, ‘Out of the Blue With Arjun Kapoor’ to the club’s fans in India. I look forward to meeting and interacting with like-minded Indian Chelsea fans and the show gives me the unique opportunity to do so. This is the perfect way through which Chelsea can engage with their large, loud and passionate fan base in India and I am grateful for the opportunity to help the club I love and support in their international initiatives,” Arjun Kapoor said in a release. The show will be available to fans on ‘The 5th Stand,’ Chelsea FC’s official mobile application and their official Facebook page. The first show will go live November 15, 2019.
