Sweet Cherry and Larkshead Partner to Expand Licensing Portfolio

Leicester-based children's publisher, Sweet Cherry, has entered into a global portfolio partnership with Larkshead, marking a significant move into the licensing arena. The partnership aims to develop licensing ranges for Sweet Cherry's in-house publishing portfolio. Notably, this collaboration will debut at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) this year, showcasing beloved titles such as Mula and Friends, Maggie Sparks, and Crystal Cove from Sweet Cherry's extensive portfolio.

Abdul Thadha, Managing Director of Sweet Cherry, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, "Our publishing business has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, and we see licensing as a promising avenue for further expansion. Collaborating with Clare Piggott and her team at Larkshead not only aligns with our values but also leverages their successful track record in promoting children's intellectual property and interactive learning."

Thadha emphasized that extending the retail reach of their authors and stories would provide fans with engaging ways to immerse themselves in their favorite brands. Sweet Cherry plans to support these commercial endeavors through its sister company, Books2Door.

Clare Piggott, Director of Licensing and Merchandising at Larkshead, expressed her satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the shared values and positive working relationship between the two companies. She commented, "Sweet Cherry has entrusted us to navigate their licensing journey for a diverse range of in-house titles. It's not often that a licensee transitions into a licensor, which underscores our strong partnership. Sweet Cherry consistently demonstrates an inclusive and commercially ethical approach. We anticipate a rewarding collaboration and look forward to sharing more details with our licensing colleagues at BLE."
