Overseas 'exposure' for wine industry

The Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) plans to participate in SITEVI, an international exhibition dedicated to wine, fruit, vegetables and olive oil, to be held shortly at Montpellier Exhibition Centre, France.

The IGPB has been set up under the Ministry of food processing industry.  Jagdish Holkar, Chairman, IGPB, said, “Participation in these exhibitions would give us the necessary international exposure.”

The local wine industry includes more than 70 wineries and barring a few large players like Sula Wines and UB Group, the rest simply focus on bulk suppliers or production of entry-level products.
