Hasbro Finalizes $375 mn Sale of Entertainment One to Lionsgate, Executes Blueprint 2.0 Strategy

In a significant move following an announcement in August reported by License Global, Hasbro has successfully concluded the sale of its Entertainment One film and TV business to Lionsgate. The purchase, valued at $375 million in cash, subject to specific adjustments, also includes Lionsgate assuming production financing loans. This strategic step aligns with Hasbro's Blueprint 2.0 strategy, emphasizing a shift while retaining the commitment to developing and producing entertainment based on its extensive portfolio of Hasbro brands.

The sale encompasses unscripted television production companies Renegade and Daisybeck, along with Hasbro's stake in the Canadian film and TV operations of Entertainment One Canada Limited. Concurrently, Hasbro anticipates retiring approximately $400 million of floating-rate debt in connection with the closing. This move positions Hasbro to concentrate on its core strengths and further execute its strategic vision in the evolving entertainment landscape.
