LEGO Expands Gaming Universe with Mario Kart and Animal Crossing Sets

The LEGO Group has unveiled an exciting new range of products at Gamescom 2024, including the much-anticipated "Super Mario: Mario Kart" sets and three fresh "Animal Crossing" sets. These releases bring the thrill of the Mario Kart universe and the charm of Animal Crossing into the realm of LEGO, offering fans an immersive and creative building experience.

The "Super Mario: Mario Kart" sets feature vibrant characters, customizable karts, and unique track elements, allowing fans to transform any surface into a Mario Kart race track. Enhancing the experience, users can incorporate LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, or LEGO Peach (sold separately) into the driver's seat. These figures bring the sets to life with iconic Mario Kart audio effects, such as race-starting horns, drifting sounds, and more. Additionally, players can use the figures to scan Item Boxes, collect coins, and boost their scores during races.

These new sets have been designed to appeal to a wide range of ages, with different characters and vehicles providing varied play experiences. The sets are crafted to capture the dynamic and heart-pounding action of the Mario Kart video game series, turning the world into a race track for fans of all ages.

Simon Kent, Design Director at LEGO Group, shared the company's enthusiasm for the launch, highlighting the immersive building experience these new sets offer and how they bring the excitement of Mario Kart to life in a brick-built format.

In addition to the Mario Kart sets, LEGO also revealed three new "Animal Crossing" sets, set to release in the coming year. These sets include "Stargazing with Celeste," "Leif’s Caravan & Garden Shop," and "Able Sisters Clothing Shop," allowing fans to extend their virtual Animal Crossing villages into the physical world with LEGO bricks.

The new LEGO "Super Mario: Mario Kart" and "Animal Crossing" sets will be available starting January 1, 2024, on LEGO.com, in LEGO stores, and through select retailers worldwide, offering fans of both franchises an opportunity to bring their favorite characters and experiences into their homes.
