Mattel's Fisher-Price? BeatBo wins Toy of the Year Award

Mattel, Inc. one of the prominent players in toys and family products, has yet again hit headlines as the Fisher-Price® Bright Beats Dance & Move BeatBo received the highly admired Toy of the Year award. The award was presented at the Toy Industry Association's Annual TOTY Awards gala in New York. Bright Beats Dance & Move BeatBo was recognized as Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year. Commenting on the occasion, Geoff Walker, EVP of Commercial North American Division at Mattel said, "In 2015, we introduced new innovative ways for our fans to engage with our brands, yet remain rooted in what we do best – developing really fun products that kids love and parents trust." "It is an honor to be recognized by the Toy Industry Association with the Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year Award and we look forward to continuing to delight kids with exciting new products for many years to come," he added. The Toy Industry Association TOTY Awards are given to products for being the most outstanding, unique and creative toy introductions from the past year. Named a hot holiday toy in 2015, BeatBo is engaging and interactive and has a multicolor LED tummy display as well as three modes of play: Dance and Move, Learning and Games and Record a Song. By pressing BeatBo's tummy or the buttons on its feet, music and songs are activated. Parents and kids can also record words that BeatBo will remix into new songs. Building on the success of the irresistible BeatBo character, Fisher-Price is creating more friends to join the Bright Beats line for Fall 2016, including Dance & Move BeatBelle and BeatBowWow™, as well as the Learnin' Lights Dance Mat, an interactive, soft dance mat featuring all-around light effects and music that baby will love to groove to! Products nominated for a TOTY Award cover all aspects of the industry. The TOTY ballot was overseen by the TOTY nominations committee, which is comprised of major retailers, TIA board members, toy trade journalists and academics.
