In the view to augment its business reach Paytm has adding six more local languages on its grid. The recent inclusion will strengthen the company’s reach and will help to further expand its connect with the local customers. The local language-based services will assist the sellers in cataloguing, documentation and loan applications.
Big players such as Flipkart and Shopclues have already opted for local language services and Paytm’s recent inclusion clearly suggests that the company doesn’t want to leave any stone untouched. Last year, Flipkart introduced Seller Hub and Shopclues launched Merchant Central programme that offers services and also assists its sellers through local language.
We are building our word-base and constantly working on the translations so that we can cover up even the smallest of the words of any of the local language. Sellers can add new products, manage inventory and orders, and get payment details in the regional language app. We have seen about 20 per cent adoption of the regional language app, which is currently available in Hindi and will soon be available in six more Indian language, according to Sudhanshu Gupta, Vice-President, Paytm.
Recently, company has tied up with 150 seller services providers and also asked them to create centralized system to assist sellers. The marketplace had also launched its seller app in Hindi earlier this year and has seen 40,000 monthly active users for the interface.
