One of country's well known e-commerce company Flipkart, became the first Indian app to cross the 50 million installs milestone on Google Android Play Store. Interestingly, the company reached the number in the first week of February 2016.
According to a report Flipkart was marked as the leading shopping app with 47 percent of the share of visits. The combined traffic share of Flipkart and Myntra stood at 63 percent, while Amazon stood third with 15.86 percent followed by Snapdeal with 13.84 percent.
The sales for Indian e-commerce market are highly depending on the mobile industry, with around 70 percent of traffic coming from mobile devices. The 2016 Morgan Stanley report expects internet penetration to double by 2020 and the number of total online shoppers to reach the 320 million mark by the same year.
