Vir Sanghvi's EazyDiner nabs first round funding

EazyDiner Pvt. Ltd, a restaurant reservation platform, founded by Indian veteran journalist, food writer and a TV host, Vir Sanghvi, along with a group of hoteliers and restaurateurs, has secured its first round of funding.

EazyDiner, an online platform that helps diners make appropriate choices and connects restaurants to diners has secured a funding led by angel investor, Deepak Shahdadpuri, Managing Director DSG Consumer Partners’ and Gulpreet Kohli, former MD, ChrysCapital. Founded in 2014, EazyDinner is a dining platform that offers reviews, recommendations, insider’s tips, dining services, and attractive deals with every reservation made. The company claims to have over 8,000 restaurant listings with menus and over 300 restaurants in its directory for online reservation. EazyDinner is currently operational in Delhi/ NCR region only.

As per Deepak Shahdadpuri, MD, DSG Consumer Partners, Indian F&B sector is yet to adopt new technologies in context with the change in eating habits, trends and behaviour. EazyDinner is a one-stop shop for both restaurants and diners.

EazyDinner’s services can be availed on its android app and is coming out with its iOS app next month. The company is aiming to enrol 7,500 restaurants and 500 partner restaurants by the end of July. It is also looking to increase its outreach to Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc. by the end of this year. EazyDinner competes with the likes of Zomato, FoodPanda and WowTable.
