In the latest news, as reported by The Wall Street journal, it seems like Amazon.com is planning to try its hands on building convenience stores and on developing pickup locations for food shopping as per requirement of the customers.
The report also says that Amazon stores will sell perishable goods such as dairy products and meat. Customers can also order for other products which can sustain for longer period without getting spoilt and products which needs to be delivered on the very day.
An interesting part of this move, which Amazon has planned is to build drive-in locations, which means if a customer is in a rush and orders a product, the product will be delivered to him in his car or wherever the location of the customer shows.
Though Amazon has not yet revealed anything about the move but according to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon's latest move is to break the traditional retailers such as Walmart, which has been ruling the market since ages by making multiple super markets at the end of every road and mark its new identity. There are other online grocery pickup services, which have risen since a couple of years.
Only time will tell how the latest move is going to benefit Amazon or will the older retailers make room for a new competitor?
