Widely known Indian food delivery app TinyOwn in its recent blog piece has said that it will shut down services in all cities besides Mumbai from 25 May 2016.
The company which was earlier operational in major tier I and II cities like Delhi- NCR, Mumbai, Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai amongst others has made services ‘temporarily unavailable’ for service improvements. The company said that the service will now be available only in select vicinities of Mumbai which includes areas like Churchgate, Colaba, Lower Parel, Mahim, Marine lines, Matunga East, Mumbai Central, Worli and Nariman Point among others.
“We are committed to return with an even better product for you in the near future,” claims the company. The Mumbai-based startup has retained the user data to help them order after the company restarts its services in the future.
The move comes ahead of TinyOwl’s merger with hyperlocal logistics player Roadrunnr in an all-stock deal to launch a consumer-facing product called 'Runnr' aimed at combating its arc rivals like Swiggy and Zomato Order. Both RoadRunnr and TinyOwl has Sequoia Capital India and Nexus Venture Partners as common investors.
