New Delhi: After taking over TastyKhana in 2014, Foodpanda has acquired the Indian business of JustEat.

With the take-over, Foodpanda has strengthened its positions as the largest online and mobile food ordering service in India.

Together with TastyKhana and JustEat, Foodpanda has now presence in over 200 Indian cities and partners with over 12,000 restaurants in the 1.3 billion inhabitant country.

The existing JustEat-management team will aim for the best customer service when ordering food online in India, company said in its statement.

'With this, foodpanda group now manages the vast majority of online food orders currently taking place in India.'

In a related development, Rocket Internet has acquired a minority stake in Delivery Hero Holding. The deal  values the four-year-old online food-takeaway service at almost $2 billion.

According to reports, Rocket paid $568 million for a 30% stake in the Berlin-based firm, which has operations in 24 countries across Europe and South America.
